Spiritmaster (Elementalist) Guide & Build (Aion 2)

Weapon: orb · Role: spirit summoner, ranged damage

About this guide

In the game and on NCSOFT's official site this class is called Spiritmaster. Elementalist is its internal name in the game data, used by some guides (e.g. couga54). Same class. You fight from range while a summoned spirit fights next to you. Everything from level 1 to the endgame: what to max, how to set up your skill bar, what not to miss in the campaign, gear, your first dungeon and a plan for after 45. Collected from several guides and videos. Where sources disagree, I say so openly.

Skills for level 12

This is the level each skill should have at this character level. The list goes from most important: if you are short on points, raise from the top. Next to each skill: the specializations to pick.

Skill bar for level 12

Arrange your skills like this in the skill window. Row 0 is the row right at the bar and has the highest priority. A filler with no cooldown always goes at the top of its column (Lipej). The game does not allow gaps: you can only place a skill in rows 1–3 when row 0 is filled. Build a line from the bottom and take it apart from the top. When a new skill goes lower, first move the ones above it up a row. A skill can only sit in one place on the bar: if it is already somewhere, take it off there first.

KeyRow 0Row 1Row 2Row 3How to use
LMB
Cold Shock
only one slot here. You hold it all the time: mana and Attack stacks
RMB
Jointstrike: Curse
Dimensional Controlnew
Combustion
Jointstrike line: you click it, Combustion fills the gaps. From 22 you can put it in the macro (10 ms)
Q
Summon: Water Spirit
Summon: Earth Spirit
Summon: Fire Spirit
spirit line: you click it. Elemental Fusion on top priority, Fire Spirit last, so it stays on the field. From 22 you can put it in the macro
E
Rapid Scattershot
only when the boss is in Stagger
2
Summon: Wind Spiritnew
first week only (aLuckyRO), then remove it
5
Summon: Ancient Spirit from 22
buff line: buffs first, the Ancient Spirit last so it copies them

Next change at 14: On Q in row 0 you add Elemental Fusion. When it lights up, the line spends it first and only then summons the next spirit.

Soul's Cry stays off the bar, because it does nothing in PvE. Put “dismiss spirits” (a game function, not a skill) on 3 (couga54). Slots 1, 4 and 6–8 stay free, e.g. for potions. Defiance (from 16) doesn't go on the bar: the game keeps it permanently on Space. By default Space is also jump and glide, so in the key settings you can turn on a separate key for Defiance (Separate Defiance Hotkey; u4n, GamerBlurb).

Skill points

  • Cold Shock and Combustion: +1 level every 3 character levels (10 from 25)
  • Daevanion: Cold Shock → Combustion → Water Spirit → Fire Spirit (Daevanion tab)

Watch out / what to do

  • Don't click “Acquire All Nodes”
  • Don't take the Soul's Cry and Wind Spirit nodes early

Next milestone: level 14

  • Jointstrike: Curse for packs

Where to put your next point

Enter your skill levels from the in-game skill window. The page calculates for the character level set above and remembers your entries in this browser.

Rules that never change

  • Elemental Fusion, Combustion and Cold Shock are your core, plus the Summon: Ancient Spirit Stigma from level 22. For the endgame you add Summon: Fire Spirit. While leveling your main spirit is Summon: Water Spirit (couga54, aLuckyRO).
  • Buffs first, then the summon. A spirit copies your stats at the moment it is summoned. A buff cast after the summon does nothing for it. So never summon the Ancient Spirit without your buffs (DankRNG, Evripides, couga54).
  • Hold Cold Shock on the left mouse button all the time. It restores mana, and from skill level 12 it gives Attack stacks: up to +10% for you and every spirit you summon.
  • Press Elemental Fusion as soon as it lights up. Until you use it, new elements are lost. Only the last summoned spirit stays on the field, the previous ones vanish after 2–3 s, so the order of your spirits matters.
  • Skill points raise skills only up to 10. Beyond that: the Daevanion board (up to +4), Arcana cards (+4) and rings (+1 each), up to 20 in total. Resetting points and changing specializations is free.
